We welcome our new Part-Time Incumbent Gail Rodger to the Parish of St. Peter and St. Paul. Gail will start effective on Tuesday October 1st 2019. Please find attached to this post a letter from the Ven. Barry Foster and below the text of the letter.
With pleasure, I write on behalf of the bishop, to announce that The Reverend Gail
Rodger has accepted appointment as incumbent to St. Peter and St. Paul, Esquimalt
effective October 1, 2019.
Gail is an extrovert with a deep faith, many gifts and a warm personality. A CPA by
former profession, her official journey to ordination began in the early 2000s when she
realized she was unhappy in her work and was called to ministry. Gail's wish was to
"empower each person on their own journey to and with Christ, and to provide support
and encouragement on that journey." Since then, she has worked hard to complete her
Master of Divinity, and has served as an assistant curate at Holy Trinity, North Saanich.
She is particularly interested in companion journeying and adult education.
Gail has been married to her high school sweetheart, Don, for 35 years, and they have
two adult daughters. As Don had a career in the Canadian military, their family lived in
Germany and Ontario before permanently settling on Vancouver Island in the late 90s.
Gail enjoys watching movies, hiking trails and socializing with friends.
I wish to thank the members of the Bishop's Consultation Committee for their prayers,
commitment, and hard work in the past few months.
Please pray for Gail and Don, for yourselves, and for the bishop as we continue our
mission and ministry together in the parish and the diocese.
