Come join us at St. Peter and St. Paul church for Toonie Tuesday on 17th September 2019 at 1pm. Savory snacks and dessert will be available. Our guest speaker from the Maritime Museum of British Columbia will be talking on the topic of WWII and women on the home front.
The Second World War brought rapid change in technology, industry, and social roles. It also brought opportunities for BC women to contribute to the war effort. Accompanied by primary archival documents, learn about the roles that women played in the BC shipbuilding industry and the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service (Wrens), all while considering the context of the period.
